The 81st Water Battalion is composed of three Upper Dauphin County fire companies: Berrysburg (Company 26), Gratz (Company 27), and Pillow (Company 28). The 81st was created to show that these 3 companies still know how to put fires out the tough way and don't take the easy way with foam. The 81st provides fire protection to those citizens living in Berrysburg, Gratz and Pillow Boros and also Mifflin and Lykens Townships. You may call the 81st "old-fashioned" for not joining the latest trend of having foam to use, but remember this: to make foam, you still need water!
